We Remember
PAINE, Donna Susan “Sue”
November 20, 1953 — November 7, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Sue Paine, who passed away on November 7, 2024, at the age of 70.
Left to hold her memory dear are her son, Jabus Holman; grandchildren, Chase and Willow Holman; and dear friend, Kelly Marx. Sue now goes to join her parents, who passed before her.
Sue was born on November 20, 1953, in Vancouver, BC, the cherished only child of Donna Fay and Omar Peters. True to her free-spirited nature, Sue embraced the hippie lifestyle and was a passionate advocate for women’s rights, dedicating much of her life to the cause. Her dedication took her to the frontlines of protests in both Seattle and Vancouver, where her fiery spirit and unwavering resolve shone brightly. Sue’s journey led her to Dubai, where she worked in Administration, bringing her unique energy to the workplace and beyond. Known for her quick wit, colourful vocabulary, and open heart, Sue made friends effortlessly, nurturing many lasting and cherished friendships over the years. Her vibrant presence and bold personality will be deeply missed by all who were lucky to know her.
Sue made a point of connecting with her loved ones before she passed, so no formal service will be held, as the Sue Paine Extinction Tour has already taken place.
Shine bright, Sue!

My deepest condolences to Sue’s family. I had the pleasure of working with Sue at the Canadian Cancer Society and we always kept in touch. Her greatest treasure was her son and grandson and remember her joy in getting to see Come From Away in New York with Chase as I was able to assist her in getting tickets. She had the best sense of humor and went out of her way to help others. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her. Rest peacefully my friend.
