We Remember

PASCOE, Betty (nee Dexter)

January 23, 1922 — June 9, 2014

Born January 23, 1922 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Betty went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2014 at the age of 92 in Kelowna, B.C. Betty was predeceased by her husband Emil; son Grant; brothers Jack and Barry; and brother-in-law Ben. She leaves behind her daughter Jane (Dennis) Neufeld; two grandchildren Jonathan and Kaley; her sisters Marjorie and Helen of Virginia; sister-in-law Isabel of Victoria; extended family; many friends; and especially her dear friend Dale.

After working in Washington, D.C. during the war, Betty settled in Winnipeg where she trained as a registered nurse working in and teaching pediatrics. In 1955 she married Emil and they had two children, Jane and Grant. Betty and Emil retired to Penticton and then Kelowna in the 1980s where they enjoyed the mild weather, established many new and endearing friendships, and did some travelling. When Jane and Dennis moved to the Kelowna area in 1989 they provided two grandchildren, Jonathan and Kaley, to give them the grandparent experience.

Betty was an intelligent, thoughtful, and generous lady who will be missed by family and friends but we are assured that she is whole and healthy again the presence of her Saviour.

The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to the excellent caregivers and staff at Sutherland Hills for their loving care of Betty, and her family, during her stay there.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Gordon Fletcher officiating.
