PATTERSON, Della

With love and peaceful hearts we remember Della Janet Patterson (Britton) of Kelowna, BC; a life well-lived from August 24th, 1924 to February 25th, 2017. She peacefully passed into heaven at the age of 92 at the Kelowna Hospice House.
Della was an incredible mother, sister, loving Grandma, Great Grandma and friend. Her love and dedication to her family and friends was always evident. She will be remembered for her quick wit, independence, poise and generosity.
Born on August 24th, 1924 in Grandview, Manitoba to Howard and Janet Britton. She was blessed with 6 siblings and is survived by Tom and Bill Britton of Vancouver Island. She married Orvel Irvin Patterson in 1949 in Grandview. They raised their daughters in Virden, Manitoba until they retired in Kelowna, BC in 1994.
Predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Orvel, April 24, 1995. She leaves a legacy in her loving daughters Gloria McSorley and Judy (Jeff) Roscoe; grandchildren Kristen (Scott) Fullerton, Jordelle (Garth) Dupré, Jason Roscoe, Breanne (Tony) Rhodes, Stacie (Adam) Huxley and Houston McSorley. Great grandchildren Layne and Hayley Fullerton, Taylan and Harper Dupré, Hudson Roscoe and Cali and Dayton Huxley.
We would like to thank the KGH physicians and nursing staff. A very warm thank you to the caring and kind hearted Hospice House staff. To Dr. Mace, there are no words to express the magnitude of our appreciation for all the years of care and compassion you provided Mom/Grandma. We are grateful, always.
To honor Mom/Grandma, we invite you to drop-in to the Harvest Golf & Country Club, 2725 KLO Road, Kelowna, BC on Wednesday, March 1st between 4 and 6pm to sip tea or raise a glass and share memories with us. Knowing Della, we invite you to wear color.

My sincerest condolences to Della’s family. My Mom and I will always cherish the memory of a very special lady. She was a very good friend to my Mom. I am out of the country and won’t make it to The Harvest. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you. JN

Gloria, Judy & Families~~ Our sincere condolences on the loss of your Mother. Having lived just across from Mom (at 362 Sunrise), we had the privilage of your Mom’s friendship in the neighbourhood. She was such a lovely lady. Her many social sharings and caring were always such a pleasure. Della will never be forgotten by those that knew her – not to mention yourselves. Gloria I was saddened to read your dear Mother had passed. Della was such a delightful lady and a pleasure to help in my ladies wear store Bobbie’s on Cooper Rd. Her sweet personality, twinkly eyes and beautiful smile are such a wonderful memory. Treasure the memories, and my condolences to all your family.

Mike & I were reminiscing about our early life….Virden! I googled Della Patterson and was saddened to hear that she passed away….our sincere condolences.
I vividly remember Della & Orvel hosting a Christmas Dinner,that Mike & I attended,newly engaged…this is 1955! Then living in the trailer court and becoming the family of “Pat-Mor Construction “ Della was a role model for the “ newly weds”!
