We Remember
PAULGER, Harry Sheldon
June 17, 1941 — December 5, 2025
With great love and sadness, we announce the loss of Sheldon Paulger, who passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025.
Sheldon is survived by his son Darren Paulger; daughter Jennifer Southern: and son-in-law Ian Southern. He now goes to join those who passed before him, including his wife of almost 59 years, Pat Paulger (d. 2025), and son Thomas Paulger (d. 2021).
Sheldon was born in Brendenbury, Saskatchewan, on June 17, 1941, to the late Edward and Daisy Paulger, and spent his formative years on the Coast, where his sharp mind and mechanical ingenuity began to shine. After earning his degree in mechanical engineering from UBC, he worked at MacMillan Bloedel, building a career marked by vision, discipline, and respect from all who worked alongside him. In 1974, Sheldon moved to Kelowna, BC with his wife and sons, embracing the community that would become home for the rest of his life. Here, he continued to work in the mill industry until he stepped into the world of entrepreneurship, bringing the same dedication to his work. He started his business Interior Lift Truck in 1980 with business partner Lorne Thompson – a venture that he was proud of.
Sheldon was deeply involved in Rotary, committed to service and fellowship, and he balanced his professional pursuits with a passionate love for golf and curling, proudly competing at the national level. In the time between those things, his love of restoring his Ford Model A and his involvement with the antiques’ car club occupied his time.
Above all, he was a loyal and devoted husband, father, and friend, known for his caring nature, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to the people he loved most. Sheldon was deeply respected, profoundly cherished, and he will be greatly missed.
A service in Sheldon’s honour will be held in April 2026, more details to come at a later date.
