We Remember

PAXMAN, Stanley
December 15, 1955 — March 8, 2018
Sunday Feb. 25th Stan suffered a massive heart attack on the job in Pink Mountain, B.C. He was airlifted to St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver where he fought hard for 11 days, surrounded by love 24 hours a day. March 8, 2018 God welcomed him home.
Stan is survived by his loving wife Debra, 4 daughters: April (Jason), Amy, Angie (Mark) and Ashley; 4 grandchildren: Brooke, Grace, Bailey and Jayden.
Stan also leaves behind two sisters Pat Hoffman, Elizabeth Nelson (Robert), one brother John (Lorna), sister in law Diana Zachow and brother-in-law Michael (Ann).
Stan was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Stan’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a caring, loving human being who dedicated his life to ensuring anyone he loved and cared for had everything they needed in life—that they wanted for nothing.
Stan worked many years in the oil patch; his work was truly the other love of his life. It allowed him the opportunity to travel, sometimes with his beautiful wife at his side. He worked in Russia, Africa, Kazakhstan and India as well as various positions in Alberta and B.C.
Stan had a passion for the outdoors. When he wasn’t working, he was at the Family Claim panning with his family and loved ones by his side.
Stan also loved playing his guitar and teaching his grandkids how to play.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved him and knew him: he truly was a great man.
‘We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.’ 2 Corinthians 4: 1-12
Defeat is not an option. No matter what adversities you face, place your hope in the Lord today and see, that because of His love and strength, you are empowered to push through every difficult situation. You are not crushed nor in despair.
GOD IS FOR YOU. YOU ARE NOT ABANDONED. GOD IS WITH YOU. YOU ARE NOT DESTROYED. GOD IS YOUR PROTECTOR, TRUST THAT HE IS BIGGER THAN WHATEVER YOU ARE FACING.

My deepest condolences and love to your family for this is truly a great loss . One that will be felt far and wide and for a very long time, I was blessed one spring to be able to spend some time with Stan and Walt just out touring their claims, I got to see the passion and the love he had for panning and how he passed that passion on to others around him.
Rest In Peace Stan
Cheryl

Terry Jacks – Seasons In The Sun
Goodbye to you my trusted friend
We’ve known each other since we were nine or ten
Together we’ve climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and ABC’s
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees
Goodbye my friend it’s hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and I’ll be there
We had joy, we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed
Were just seasons out of time
Goodbye Papa please pray for me
I was the black sheep of the family
You tried to teach me right from wrong
Too much wine and too much song
Wonder how I got along
Goodbye Papa it’s hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
