We Remember
PEDERSON, Martha Louise
August 29, 1919 — September 21, 2014
Martha was born in Elbow Saskatchewan, one of 8 children. The Pederson family moved to Weldon, Saskatchewan during the Depression, then to Vancouver in 1942 where she worked for the Lutheran Church and studied Early Childhood Education at UBC. She also attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Saskatchewan. In 1953 she answered the call to Mission work for the Lutheran Church, in Zululand South Africa where she taught and looked after 20 Missionary’s children. In 1967 Martha returned to Canada where she continued working for the Church and teaching children in many cites throughout Western Canada. She moved to Kelowna in 1990.
She will always be known as ‘Aunt Martha’ to many Family and Friends throughout the world. The Lutheran Church, Children, and Family were her calling in life and she remained dedicated to these until her passing. She always felt ‘Blessed’. But so do those that knew her.
Martha is survived by sister in law Harriet Pederson, brother-in-law Harold Anderson, and many nieces and nephews.
