PERREAULT, John
November 11, 1928 — July 6, 2013
John passed away peacefully on July 6th, 2013 in Kelowna, B.C. John was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on November 11, 1928, the eleventh child of nineteen children born to Bernadette Letendre and Joseph Perreault. While growing up in St. Boniface John met the love of his life, Emma Rodrigue. On December 3rd, 1949, John and Emma were married and went on to have five children.
John learned his welding trade at an early age. He worked for a number of companies including Dominion Bridge, Manitoba Bridge and the City of Winnipeg. In 1971, he and Emma opened their own successful company, St. Boniface Welding. They sold their business in 1977 so they could retire early to ‘God’s country’ – Kelowna, BC.
John is survived by his loving wife Emma, his daughters Elaine O’Brien (Roger), Yvette Muller (Ben Koops), Louise Moreau (Paul), and sons Raymond (Michelle) and John (Marianne). He also leaves to mourn his passing, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, his brother Lawrence, sisters Yvonne Grenier and Rose Gagnon, sister-in-law Irene Perreault, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Kelowna Community Integrated Health Services and the Hospice House nursing and support staff for their compassionate, sensitive care given to John and to his family during his final days.
In accordance with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service is planned. The family will be hosting a get-together for family and friends to celebrate John’s life on Friday, July 19th between the hours of 2 and 4 pm at St. Theresa’s Church Hall, 750 N Rutland Road.
