We Remember

PFEFFERLE, Arthur Edward “Art”
August 24, 1932 — October 23, 2024
It is with great sadness and deep love that we announce the loss of Arthur Edward Pfefferle, who passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 92.
Left to hold his memory dear are his beloved wife of 67 years, Ruth; 6 children, Debra, Cathy, Howard, Carleen, Sandy, and Raymond; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and siblings Rudy, Stan, Mildred, Betty, and Melvin; along with numerous close family and friends, including his Mexican family members, Raul and Marisol, and their two daughters, Sofia and Frida.
He now goes to join those who passed before him, including his parents Edward and Elizabeth; and his oldest daughter, Debra.
Art was born on August 24, 1932, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. In 1956, he met his beloved wife, Ruth, in Shannonville, Ontario, and the two married that same year, embarking on a lifetime of love and devotion. Together, they raised a close-knit family of six children in Deseronto, Ontario, where Art also served with pride as a member of the Deseronto Volunteer Fire Department. He built a successful career as a manager for Brunswick Corporation in Belleville, Ontario, eventually transferring with the company to North Vancouver, BC, in 1974. Art retired in 1990, choosing Kelowna, BC, as his permanent home but spending winters in Lo de Marcos, Mexico—a place that became so dear to him that his ashes will be spread there. Known for his deep affection for animals, especially dogs, Art’s love for his family always came first, leaving memories of kindness, dedication, and warmth. He will be profoundly missed by all whose lives were impacted by his presence.
Family and friends will each honour Art in their own ways. No formal service will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation or the BC SPCA.

As my father-in-law for many years, I will miss his humor and his kindness. He will be forever missed. I believe you pass on two times in life; the first is when your spirit leaves your body, and the second is the last time anyone speaks your name. I know that Art will live on for decades more as he left his mark on all our hearts and we will share stories for years to come. We love you papa, and we send sincere condolences, love and hugs to all the Pfefferle clan.

Dear Ruth, Howard, Katrina, Travis, Brandon and the entire Pfefferle family,
I am so incredibly sorry for your loss.
Art was a remarkable man. I have countless memories with him in which every single one we hugged, laughed and putzed around looking at his treasured belongings, each one coming with a story, often leaving me speechless in the best way possible. I always felt a kinship with Art and I’m so grateful I had the blessing of knowing him.
Art, you always commented on my smile. This one is for you ❤️
With love,
Kristi
