In addition, she will be missed by her many cousins, nieces, great-nieces and great-great nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-great-nephews and many friends.
Marion had a very colorful, historical past that included relations to Louis Riel and Gabriel Dumont. Along with one of the tallest men in the world (Giant), Edouard Beaupre (Grandmother’s first cousin), reaching 8 feet, 3 inches. Marion was so very loving and compassionate. She was the glue in many, many of our lives. She may have not been the best with names but that was okay because everyone was her “Honey”. Marion and Peter were married for 56 years. They were married in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She worked for many hard years that included CNIB and Zellers as the café manager in Edmonton; P&M Fun Centre, Ernie’s Place and Mickey’s Pub in Kelowna. Her hobbies included bingo and bowling. We will never forget how she loved to throw gatherings and dinner parties. Her Christmas spread was the Best and enjoyed by so many of us for many years. Also, all those Father’s Day family picnics! Marion and cousin, John Zayonce, would spoil us all with organizing and BBQing for the whole lot of us.
Marion has touched so many of us and will continue to be the light igniting our hearts forever and ever.

I have fond memories of my cousin babysitting me and my sister Sylvia. Then later in life visiting Marion and Peter at their new home in Edmonton. And their first baby boy .
Thank you Frieda – Mom talked a lot about you and your sister and the past. It’s very nice to see your picture and you sharing your condolences. Thank you, Lisa
Sorry to hear of Marion’s passing. She lived a good, long life.
My mother Dolores, and Marion were best friend for many years. They met in the late 70’s, while Mom worked in the Donut House in Orchard Park, and became fast friends. A few years later they were surprised to learn that Dad and Marion were cousins.
Twice a week Marion and Mom bowled together on a team, and twice a week they went to bingo. It never mattered who won, they always split the pot. The best part was being together.
Marion was a sweet lady, who loved her Peter dearly, as well as her children.
This picture was at my wedding reception in 1983, with Aunt Mildred on the right.
Take care Brent and Lisa. We’re thinking of you.
Hi Wendy – I was just thinking about your crew the other day when I was looking through mom’s photo albums. I took lots of pictures at your wedding. I miss your mom’s place. It was so unique. Your mom and my mom were such amazing friends. It’s perfect that they ended up being semi-related. Thank you for sharing this sweet story and also for your condolences. I hope all the best to your and all the family. xoxo Lisa
My sincere condolences to the families on hearing about the passing of a wonderful woman, Marion Picklyk. I still have fond memories of her infectious laugh and smile and how much she loved her family. May you all be comforted in knowing that she will be reunited with her late husband, Peter. They were a fabulous couple and it was always so nice to see them together at Tim Hortons and have a little chat. I will cherish the memories of them both.
Tammy, that was very nice for you to share and mom and dad would very much adore these sentiments. Thank you.
I am very sorry for your loss and wish your family strength during this difficult time.
