We Remember
PORTER, Donald Graham “Don”
October 2, 1949 — March 28, 2024
It is with immense love and sadness that we announce the loss of Donald Porter, who passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024, at the age of 74.
Don goes to join those who went before him, including his beloved wife, Linda. Left to treasure his memory are his children Kelly Porter, Jason Porter, and Tanya Golpin; grandchildren Zachary Porter, Payton Porter, and Hailey and Brayden Galpin; son-in-law Kyle Galpin; daughter-in-law Cheryl Johnston; as well as his siblings, Sharon Black and Daryl Porter.
Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta to Donald and Jacueline Porter, Don was one of eight children. He was an avid sports fan, obtaining championship status in Flag Football (Canadian Championship), and then spending most of his winters coaching youth hockey. Don’s summer passion was golf, and most recently, Pickleball.
Don is remembered for his generosity and kindness, as he spent many years on the strata corporation of Sonoma Pines, making the lives of its residents that much easier. He was a loving husband, caring father and grandfather, and good friend to many. Don will forever be held in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

So sorry for your loss. I found this picture of Don with Rob Moller from our houseboat trip back in the summer of 1990. Don & Linda were with Rob & Anita Moller and Rob & Edie Roe. Super fun week – Don was always ready with a joke.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
I spoke to Don just last Thursday when he informed me of his latest health set back which was a huge shock.
Don was a very good friend and has left me with many great memories from numerous golf games, golf trips, to camping trips back when him and Linda had the 5th wheel as well having many of lunches and diners and going to Rocket games.
Don attended both my daughter’s weddings and was a good friend to not only myself but our entire family and we will all miss him very much.
I will be making the trip back from Mexico next week to say my goodbyes and be there to support your entire family.
Again our sincere condolences
Alan and Eleanor Bayliss

So very sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I have fond memories of your family and playing in the basement of your Baba and Gidos place in Myrnam. My wife Donna and I send our most heartfelt condolences to all of you for your loss.
Remember we all have at least one memory of our parents, no matter how good or bad it is. This memory will always be with us and bring us comfort even in times like these when we feel alone in this world without them by our side anymore. Take care of each other.
