We Remember

Pugliese, Edna May

Passed away peacefully on January 28th, 2012.  She was born January 25th, 1923 in Michel B.C, the daughter of Michael and Edna Moshuk.  She was predeceased by her loving husband  Joseph, two brothers Alex and Wilfred and numerous close family members.  Edna is Survived by her son Michael, granddaughter Francesca, son-in-law Carlos, 2 great granddaughters; Angelina and Sophia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edna was deeply involved with the Senior Citizens Association holding various Executive Positions and travelling to many senior conferences across B.C.  Edna was also an active member of The Kelowna Canadian Italian Club, where she made many long and lasting friendships.  She worked tirelessly for the club donating her time as Mrs. Claus and crocheting her infamous dolls for raffles, raising money for the Children’s Variety Club as well as the Italian School and various other charities.  In her later years Edna spent her time crocheting baby blankets for the newborn babies in our family, each newborn was given a blanket to keep them warm.  She continued this till the time of her death.

Edna was a loving and caring person with an infectious personality and smile.  She gave love and the love was always returned.  Edna was always ready to joke or have a laugh, she was known to keep good jokes in her purse at all times.  Edna will be sadly missed by her family and many friends, but will always be fondly remembered as she created a lot of great memories.

Mike and Family…I was so saddened to read of your mother’s passing. We are losing the last of that great generation! I clipped out Edna’s obituary and posted it on our fridge.
It is a testament to how special Edna was that as each of my five children read of her passing each one exclaimed ‘Oh no! Not Mrs. Claus!!’ They spoke of how she was always smiling and had such pink cheeks.
She gave so much of herself and will be dearly missed.
My prayers and warm thoughts are with you all. She loved you all so very much.
    Hugs from Joey Vecchio
