PUIU, Keith

December 15, 1945 — February 15, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family of Keith Barnard Puiu announce his passing on February 15, 2023, at the age of 77 years in Kelowna, BC.

Keith was born December 15, 1945, in Maidstone, Kent, England to his parents Ron & Violet Puiu. Keith is survived by his wife Taya; daughters Tiffiny (John), Tanya (Denny), Tricia (Jeff), Tara (Brian); and son Christian. Keith is also survived by his 9 adoring grandchildren: Savannah, Maddy, Mason, Brayden, Hannah, Briar, Cass, Kennedie and Addison.

Keith had an accomplished career in the financial industry which began in 1966 with the Bank of Montreal. He then moved on and spent time with Lloyd’s Bank of Canada, Canadian Western Bank prior to making a move to the Credit Union world where he ended his career as the President & CEO of Prospera Credit Union.

Although his career in banking was something he certainly enjoyed, his one true passion was coaching football (“soccer”). Keith spent many great years on the touchline and was an accomplished coach. In his 15+ years, he was a Head Coach with BC Soccer Women’s Provincial Program, the Women’s Canada Games Team, Langara College Women’s Team, Surrey United (Women’s Soccer Premier League) and the Sporting Club of Vancouver (Men’s Premier League). During this time, Keith also spent time as a coach with Canada Soccer’s National High-Performance Centre and was also a Coaching Instructor for the BC Soccer Association.

A Celebration of Life will take place on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at The Cathedral Church of St Michael & All Angels, 608 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna, BC.
