    Arlene and Family,

On behalf of the Board of Thompson Okanagan Advocis, please accept our deepest condolences. Randy’s contributions to our association were numerous.

As the emcee for our annual Christmas Charity Luncheon, his giving and compassionate spirit was evident as he brought humour, laughter and comraderie amongst our members. His passion for the Salvation Army helped to raise over a hundred thousand dollars for those in need. Randy will be greatly missed not only this year, but in years to come.

  • Cindy Hewitt says:

Arlene & Family – it was deeply saddening to hear this. Randy was one of a kind…he had great wit, the best sense of humour, could make anyone laugh, and a real joy to be with. An incredible, engaging speaker. He always spoke so highly of you, his boys, and his mom, and was always helping everyone. He was extremely thoughtful, compassionate, and giving. He dedicated countless hours to Rotary, CAIFA/Advocis (putting on the schools), and charities – and will have a lasting impact on many people’s lives as a result. He had such an easy going manner about him, and just made everyone’s lives better by being in it. I’m terribly sorry for your family’s loss – of a wonderful man, husband, and father…and a terrific friend to me. He’s made lasting impression on me, and I will always miss him – as I’ve never met anyone quite like him.

“I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads his white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. He is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch until at last he hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, “There he goes!”

Gone where? Gone from my sight…that is all. He is just as large in mast and hull and spar as he was when she left my side and just as able to bear his load of living freight to the place of destination. His diminished size is in me, not in him. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, “There he goes!” there are other eyes watching him coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, “Here he comes!”

A parable of immortality – Henry Van Dyke

May God bless and comfort all of you…

  • Bob Berube says:

    Arlene and Family,

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Randy. I have known Randy for 20 years and considered him my mentor in the Insurance and Investment business.

Going for coffee daily (sometimes twice) for 4 years were some of the best times I have had. The stories were endless and always with that beautiful dry humor that Randy mastered. He talked about his family with passion and deep love ( I know everything there is to know about Sears management and video games )

Probably the fondest memory I have of Randy is when my house was broken in to. I came home and the door was busted open and there was stuff thrown everywhere. It was devastating and the first person I called was Randy. ( We had just left each other from having coffee )

Of course he said he would come right over and did, With a bottle of Rye ( our drink of choice ). He came into the house, had a drink with me and calmed me down through that wit of his.

I am going to miss you my friend and thanks again for being there!!

    Bob Berube

  • John Peacock says:

To the Quigley family……..I was shocked and saddened to hear of Randy’s passing! Although I had not been in touch for awhile, one cannot forget his great energy and sense of humour!! For the years that I faithfully attended local Advocis meetings, he always kept even the most boring sessions tolerable, with his great wit and near, stand – up comedian style humour, every chance he took the mic! He truly was a very enjoyable and likeable man. I wish that I would have seen him again, prior to hearing this news. My loss…..
I am sure he will be missed by many. The very best ahead to all of you. Kindest Regards, John

So sorry to hear that Randy is gone. I first met him as a child through my grandfather, Dick Edmondson. Years later he helped me select the most amazing life insurance policy – It was about 1990 – and I still carry it today. Everyone always tells me whatever you do keep this policy going – it’s a good one. Randy was a good one too and will be so missed. Love and Blessings to his family.
