We Remember
RAMRATTAN, Rose
—
June 21, 2020 – We are mustering courage and strength to attempt to cope with losing our mother, Rose. This remarkable woman offered unconditional love to family and friends, acquaintances and strangers. Mom enjoyed her career of working in several care homes over the years and provided excellent service and compassion to residents. Rosie was well respected by her colleagues, many of whom kept in touch well after she retired. And so, we will miss her cheery voice on the phone, the warm and friendly smile that would greet us time after time, and of course the lovely aromas of the most delicious meals she would lovingly prepare. Mom loved to visit and share her stories and listen to ours. She was an amazing person who would step up to help out anyone who was in need. Great Grandmother, Grandmother, Mother, Sister, Auntie, Cousin, Friend, – Thank you for teaching us so much throughout your lifetime. Here are a few of the lessons we will remember Rosie for: Pray and have faith; Work hard; Seize the day; Keep in touch with relatives and friends; Help those in need; Believe that the good you do and your kindness will make positive changes in the world.

We have known your Mom and Dad since they came to the Garnet/Wesley Charge. We always had a laugh and when he moved from us we went to his induction and we made ourselves known to the community he moved to. They were a young couple with two children. He could not get over our old claw type bath tubs that he said froze his family. We too were a young family with 3 children. We had church at 9:30 and then Sunday School after until noon. Being from a farm the kids had there little tractors and equipment. I always brought a bag of coloured miniature marshmallows which they separated and ate and then I would give them pieces of apple. Once I was out of ammunition to keep them quiet I would put the core on the point of my jack knife and show him what was happening and that was his clue to end his sermon. We always sat in the back side pew. We were priveliged to have him buried in our cemetery where Rose will be brought to rest. We even had Robbies wedding back at Garnet which I helped with. Rose and I have kept in contact for over 46 years
through visits, letters and phone calls. She will always be remembered for her smile and kind words. She was a hard worker and raised her two children after Eric died which was not easy. Take care family and know she always thought the world of you all. Love from her country friends, Tom and Marlene Phibbs.
