RAND, Ellen Gay “Gay”

January 1, 1940 — February 18, 2024

On February 18, 2024, Gay Rand passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 84. Gay was born on January 1, 1940 in Turner Valley, Alberta. She is survived by her two children, daughter Kathleen Marsel and son Shane (Brenda) Marsel, her two grandchildren, Kylene and Tyler Bray; step-grandchildren, Renee and Lacee Alook; two great-grandchildren, Casey Elliott and Caleb Bray; her dear sister Jo Mundt; and so many dear friends and extended family.

Ellen was an extraordinary woman.  She was very creative and loved crocheting the Franklin Heirloom dresses on barbies. She loved her cockatiels and finches, really loved all animals. Her homemade bread will be so missed by all, she cherished her friends and family. Her daughter played yahtzee with her up until a month before her death, she loved games.

A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer, www.bccancer.bc.ca.
