We Remember

RAUSCH, Hilda Lillian

June 19, 1945 — October 7, 2021

Hilda Rausch passed away on October 7, 2021, at the age of 76. Her independent and loyal spirit will be missed.

Born in Beauvallon, Alberta, Hilda lived in the Edmonton, AB area. Joining many of her Albertan friends, she moved to the Okanagan in BC with her late husband, Neil. A force to be reckoned with, Hilda was exuberant and kind. As an Administrative Assistant with Enbridge, she had a strong work ethic and great sense of humour.  She had an exceptional sense of fashion and style. She generously welcomed others to her home (each exquisitely decorated by her). And if there was a good party to be found, most likely Hilda was there.

The memory of Hilda will be carried on by her loving family: her brother Marshall (Rose) Chemy; sister-in-law Barbara Chemy; and her nephew Wayne (Kelly) & niece Jacqueline (Brad) Chemy. She will also be remembered by her stepchildren Allana (Daniel) Hemenway, Janna Rausch (Walter Richards), Timothy (Gina) Rausch, and Amanda Rausch; her grandchildren Logan and Carter Richards; and many more extended family members. In 2019, Hilda was predeceased by her love, Neil, whom she married in 2004. She was also predeceased by her father Joseph in 1981 & mother Annie in 2005, and her brother Victor Chemy in 2006.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for Kay, Pam & Rennie Cyril, Wayne Chemy, and Dr. Alanna Leverrier.

Memorial donations may be sent to BC Cancer Agency – Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior.

A Funeral Service will be held on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2021 AT 1:00 PM PDT, at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the number of attendees will be limited, IF YOU WISH TO ATTEND PLEASE CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.     To Hilda’s family…I send my deepest sympathy. Hilda was a Lady that you could never forget…she always told it the way it was.
    I will remember our Lunches at Harvest Golf Club and the ‘odd’ glass of wine at either her home or mine.
    I was her neighbour at the Wedgewood and I will miss her.

    Hilda leaves her legacy with us all. I loved her straight forward, tell you like it is, contagious energy that lit up any room she entered. She was the best friend to my mom and it is this life long relationship that makes us whole. She will be dearly missed but remembered with such joy, energy and laughter.

    Our heartfelt and sincere condolences to all the family on Hilda’s passing. We have just watched an amazing tribute to an amazing lady. Indeed Hilda was all that and more. She was our friend for many years and we cherished and were so Blessed to have had her as our friend. She will not be forgotten as she spread joy and laughter each time we met. She and Neil were so well matched and we shared many special visits with them. All of which we hold dear in our hearts.
