We Remember

REA, Patricia “Pat”

1939 – 2021

Pat Rea, 81, of Kelowna, BC passed away on May 25, 2021. She slipped away closely comforted by family and the incredible staff at the Orchard Manor care facility.

Pat was predeceased, by only six weeks, by her loving husband Glen, a true testament to their beautiful 64 years of marriage. Pat is survived by her daughters Brenda, Sandy (Tim), and Jaime (Justin); grandchildren Matthew (Kymberly), Katie (Ashley), Charlie, and Oliver. She is also survived by her older brothers Bob (Sylvia) and Gordon (Maureen).

Pat was born in New Westminster in 1939 where she grew up and met the love of her life, Glen. Glen and Pat moved to Sudbury, Ontario in 1957 where they had their first daughter, Brenda. In 1959, they moved back to Burnaby, and in 1960, their second daughter Sandy was born. They moved back to Kelowna permanently in 1961, and much to their surprise, 15 years later Jaime was born.

Throughout her life, Pat enjoyed golfing at the Kelowna Golf and Country Club, where she and Glen were members for over 40 years. Pat also enjoyed bowling, bridge, skiing, tennis and racquetball. Pat and Glen were avid fans of the Kelowna Rockets hockey team and had season tickets for many years. A highlight of Pat and Glen’s life together was always making time to travel. They enjoyed many golf and business trips over the years shared with friends and family, as well as annual visits to their home away from home in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Pat was truly loved by all who knew her. She was known for her beautiful smile, her kind sweet, nature and easy-going personality. Her love for her family was always a priority, and it is of great comfort to her daughters knowing that she is finally at peace with her true soulmate, Glen.

A private burial service will be held for family at the Kelowna cemetery. The family is looking forward to a larger, future celebration of life for both Pat and Glen in the fall.
