RICHES, Eleanor

Eleanor passed away on November 16, 2013 at Hawthorne Park, Orchard Manor, Kelowna, BC. She was born at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC on November 30, 1929. Eleanor attended U.B.C. to be a Medical Librarian and worked at U.B.C, University of Toronto and V.G.H. In Vancouver, she volunteered at the Chinese Classical Gardens for years. Eleanor was a member of West Vancouver’s United Church and in her younger years was involved with exchange students from Japan. She loved skiing, skating and swimming. Eleanor was an accomplished pianist (A.R.C.T.) and for many years she taught piano in her home in West Vancouver.
Eleanor was predeceased by her mother Herga Riches in 1985. She leaves behind six first cousins: Grant Fumerton (Joy), Diane Rankin, Carol Slesinger (Gary), Gail Johnston (Gordon), Gary Lewis (Darlene) and Clive Lewis (Doris). A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
