William David Rieger “Bill”, 64 passed away peacefully in his home on December 28, 2013. Bill was born on July 5th, 1949 in Kelowna to Casper and Jean Rieger. To Bill “Papa” his wife and family meant the world to him. Bill enjoyed keeping busy, always puttering, providing those around him with endless jokes both good and bad and was quite proud of his chef like abilities. Bill is survived by his loving wife Laurie, his grandsons Cody Wood and Calvin Jackson, daughters Jennifer Wood and Tammy Jackson, son-in-law Graham Wood; sister Lynn Rieger and brother Don Rieger. Bill was taken from us suddenly and will forever be loved and missed. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 1589 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5Y7. At this time, Knowing Bill and working with him, he was always great to see and hear his great jokes. I’ll say it was never a dull moment, only a great atmosphere to be around him. My thoughts and comforting spirit are with each of you at this time.

Sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. It was just before Christmas that I received my last joke from Bill and it was a good one that almost made me cry from laughing. Don, to you I am sorry for the loss of your brother. I remember the days of us kids playing hockey and your dad behind the bench coaching us. Bill and I had the chance to re connect over the last few years through work and I will always remember him.

I recall seeing Bill on job sites, he was great to deal with and will be missed.

Working hard, as usual
It is with great sadness I write this, I had the pleasure of knowing Bill for approx. 15 years, I was privilaged to be able to work with him for 3 of those years, lunch breaks were always exciting and filled with laughter with Bill’s stories and jokes (even the bad ones). He will be truley missed, Our thoughts are with Laurie, Tammy and Jen.
