We Remember

RIST, Adolf

March 2, 1940 — June 26, 2021

On June 26, 2021 this world lost a humorous, resilient, and compassionate man; Adolf passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at 81 years old. Adolf was born to the late Heinrich and Martha Rist on March 2, 1940.

A true family man, Adolf will be remembered for his generosity and is held dear in the hearts of his wife of 59 years, Heidi; children Marina Cook, Sandy Dewhurst (Randy), and Rob Rist (Jeanette); grandchildren Chelsea (Matt), Justyn, Melissa (Micah), Evan, Madi (Daniel) and Paige; and great-grandchildren Greyson, Mackenzie, and Willow. He will also be remembered by his sister Gundi Bonn (William); sister-in-law Christine Münzberg; nieces and nephews Steven, Tiffany, and Christian (Katja); and cousins Hans and Ruth. He goes to join his daughter Jennifer (d. 1967).

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. Opi, you will be truly missed.

Many thanks to Heather (Extra Home), Shane (Physiotherapist), and the staff at Kelowna General Hospital ICU for caring for Adolf.

A Private Family Service will be held to honour Adolf, however due to the current pandemic restrictions it will be by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
