ROBERTS, Krystal Lynn Marie – Updated Service Info.
July 27, 1988 — January 21, 2025
A Celebration of Life in Krystal’s honour will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, at the Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society located at: 442 Leon Ave, Kelowna, BC.
It is with great sadness and profound love that we announce the loss of Krystal Lynn Marie Roberts, who passed away unexpectedly after her battle with pneumonia.
Left to hold her dear to their hearts are those she loved most, including the light of her life, her daughter Destinee Roberts; mother Ethel (Randy) Lariviere; uncle Eugene Schmidt (Jecinda Landsman); maternal grandmother Rita Alook; paternal grandmother Eleanor Schmidt; and cousins Cody Schmidt (Nikki), Curtis Schmidt (Chelsea McKenna), Kandice (Ryan) May, and Kristopher Schmidt. Krystal also leaves behind many friends who loved her dearly and will miss her beyond words.
She now goes to join those who passed before her, including her grandfather Richard Schmidt and cousin Lyle Schmidt.
Krystal was born on July 27, 1988, in Calgary, Alberta, and lived her life as her true authentic self. She never pretended to be anyone but herself, embracing her individuality with pride and inspiring those around her to do the same. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her beloved daughter, Destinee, who was truly the love of her life. Whether they were baking together in the kitchen, watching the Canucks, or sharing quiet moments, watching movies. Krystal’s bond with Destinee was unbreakable, and she poured her heart into being the best mother she could be.
Krystal’s passions extended to music, which filled her days with joy and energy, and to video games, where she enjoyed playing favourites like World of Warcraft. She also cherished spending time with her friends, creating memories filled with laughter and love. Krystal’s one-of-a-kind personality and genuine kindness left a mark on everyone she met.
Deeply loved and profoundly missed, Krystal’s impact on the lives of her family and friends will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Krystal to Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society, Canadian Mental Health Association, or Diabetes Canada.
Please wear a ribbon skirt or ribbon shirt if you have one. Bring hand drums. Family is requesting for attendees to not wear black but colourful clothing in honour of her bright colourful personality. Krystal’s favourite colour was bright pink.

It was an absolute honour and joy getting to know Krystal; my thoughts are with her family 💕
Hi Ethel and family- you may not remember me but I remember having loads of fun at your place and on your boat with Krystal when we were teenagers. She was a fun free spirit and we always had a blast together. I am sad we drifted apart in our adult years but she’s a huge part of my youth. I will treasure the memories I have with her. My condolences to your family.

Dear Ethel and family, my sincere condolences to you and your family. Although I did not have the opportunity to meet Krystal, your words about her, especially as being her true authentic self resonated deeply with me; these special beings are rare. I feel your beloved daughter was a warrior who carried her health issues with dignity and grace while having an open supporting heart for others, and having a very special connection with her beloved daughter. May she be blessed on her continuing journey with love and light, leaving a good road for her loved ones to walk. W’ay!
