ROE, Eileen Ethel “Nana”

January 24, 1936 — June 12, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Ethel Roe, on June 12, 2023, at the Central Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna, BC.

Born in Toronto, ON on January 24, 1936, the family later moved to Horseshoe Bay, BC where they owned and operated a family restaurant called Benny’s Inn.  She later spent most of her years in Vancouver, BC eventually moving to De Ridder, LA for a short period and then back to Kelowna, BC.  She is survived by her two children Barbara Kovacs (Grant) of Kelowna, BC, and Andrew of De Ridder, LA; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and her sister Adel, Irene, predeceased brother Clifford (Pam) and Betty.

At Eileen’s request, there will be no formal service, but a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 1:00 pm at 2582 Casa Palmero Drive, West Kelowna, BC.

We would like to thank the staff at Central Okanagan Hospice House for making her last days with us as comfortable as she could be. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations can be made to BC Children’s Hospital.

She had a heart of gold and was everyone’s “Nana”
