We Remember
ROMANUK, Theodora Doreen
July 23, 1926 — May 12, 2021
Born July 23, 1926, T. Doreen Romanuk passed away peacefully on May 12, 2021. She is held dear in the hearts of her family: her children Anna (Bill) Appel of West Kelowna, BC and Ray Romanuk of Osoyoos, BC, and her five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Sadly she was predeceased by her husband Bill approximately 10 years ago.
Doreen & Bill had resided in the Okanagan since 1956. Doreen was always a hard worker; she worked in the kitchen at Kelowna General Hospital plus she was the local neighbourhood babysitter. She looked after children for her own family and for many of the neighbours as well, she treated all the children as though they were her own. She did this without worrying about payment which, sometimes, was only pennies a day and sometimes nothing at all. Everyone called Doreen “Grandma” or “Bubba”.
Fish & Chips, gingersnap cookies, and Scotch & Iced Tea were some of her favourite things and will always remind us of her. She will also be remembered for her smile and for never being one to complain.
Mom, we love you and miss you. Rest in peace.

To Auntie Anna and Uncle Bill and family,
So sorry for your loss. Granma will be remembered by us for her constant cheerfulness, her loving nature and for always sharing her homemade cookies with us. We hope all your wonderful memories will help heal the pain of this loss.
Hugs, Sandi, Norm, Alana & Paige
Sorry to hear about your mom , she was a wonderful lady. I loved that laugh.
Sincere condolences to the Romanuk family. Nothing was more special to us as children than the times we spent with them when they lived on a neighbouring farm in Alberta. My first memories of great food served with love were in Doreen’s kitchen. She made the most amazing cakes and every occasion was special, Doreen was best friend to our mother and she will live on in our hearts.
I am very sorry for your loss and wish your family strength during this difficult time.
