We Remember

Roozendaal, Regina

September 6, 1932 — November 19, 2012

Death is God’s way of saying “your table is ready my good and faithful servant”.  Regina passed away peacefully on November 19 with family members by her side.  In spite of serious lung and liver problems, she approached each day with a smile and found joy in dedicating herself to her family, friends and the church.  She ultimately succumbed to cancer following a brief hospital stay.  Regina was born in Torquay, Saskatchewan, the 13th of 15 children, and will be remembered by all who knew her for her laughter, warm smile and wonderful pies.  She is especially missed by her four children:  Pattie Roozendaal, Mary-Lou (Don) Huculak, Sam (Patti) Roozendaal, Maureen (Dave) Drake; six grandchildren:  Alyssa, Richie, Stephanie, Siemon, Anna and Marc; four surviving sisters and brother in Saskatchewan; as well as many nieces and nephews in the Bonokoski family.  A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, November 23, at 7:00 p.m. and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 24, at 2:00 p.m., both at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC.  As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to The Seton House of Prayer, 5819 Chute Lake Road, Kelowna, BC, V1W 4L5.

    Pattie, Mary-Lou,Sam & Maureen.
We are very sorry to hear of the passing of your mom, but are very happy that she is now enjoying her reward in paradise with Jesus & all those she loved. We first met your mom when you lived in Castlegar & we visited you at your lovely home with the pool. I often met her at CWL conventions, the last one in Kelowna this past May. She told me she was going in for surgery the next Monday, but was smiling & very accepting She was a real treasure, and I am sure you will treasure all the wonderful memories you have of her. Elaine & Marcel Audet, Castlegar

Pattie, Mary Lou, Sam ,and Maureen my heart prayers and thoughts go out to you today. I remember living next to you in Saanich and going camping with your family at Little Qualicum Falls, hiding in your cubby in the basement of your house when I ran away, hanging with the two of you with friends in your basement we were teens Sam and Maureen were little. Your Mom made me feel welcome in your home and taking me camping with you as a family was the best time I had had for sometime with all the stuff that was happening within my own family. My heart goes out to you all today when I read the Obituary today it brought back a flood of memories. I remember thinking as a teen I wanted a Mom like yours and I recognized her photo as soon as I opened that section.Love and hugs to you all at this difficult time Heather.
