With heavy hearts we announce that Laurie Clifton Rorick passed away in Kelowna, BC, on October 10, 2026, at the age of 85.
Laurie is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dianna; son Colin (Suzanne); stepchildren Lisa (Mike) Schell, Sara Johnson, and David (Jacqualyn) Conrad; grandchildren Tyson (Emma), Miya (Sabre), Travis, Marissa, Mason, and Ella; great-grandchildren Everlee and Riley; brothers Dennis and Raymond; sister Linda; and many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and coworkers.
He was sadly predeceased by his parents Clifford and Hazel; sister Karen; brother-in-law Lawrie Dewitt; mother-in-law Betty Potter; sister-in-law Val Potter; and late wives Roberta and Marge.
Laurie was a very proud member of I.U.O.E #115 and helped a lot of the highways throughout BC and beyond. After retiring in 2000, he was called upon by the forestry to fight the 2003 Okanagan Mountain Park fire beacuse he was the only person who could operate a manual D8 Cat. He saved several homes.
In his younger years, he was a Golden Gloves Boxing contender. His left upper cut was his specialty.
A special thank you to Dr. Larry Bobyn and all of the wonderful staff at Springvalley Care Facility (Pioneer Unit) for the care and compassion shown to Laurie and I the last two years. You are truly appreciated.
At Laurie’s request, there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laurie’s name to Springvalley Care Facility, 355 Terai Court, Kelowna, BC V1X 5X6, 250-989-6000.
