We Remember
ROTA, Ruby Jean
January 11, 2010 — May 24, 2017
Our precious Ruby passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the age of 7. She is survived by her parents Wes and Heather; sister Poppy; brother Smith; her dogs Cash and Coco; grandparents Terry and Deborah Rota and Robert and Deborah Taylor; and aunties Jaime Taylor and Corina (Johan) Hammarström and cousin Gavin. Ruby loved to travel, especially to Hawaii and Disneyland. She also loved to sing and dance, to dress fancy and drink tea. Most of all, she liked to be at home with her family and her dogs, enjoying all the flower gardens. She was a princess-in-training. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church, 1905 Springfield Road, Kelowna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Children’s Hospital at the following link (https://secure.bcchf.ca/SuperheroPages/main.cfm?Event=WOT&Member=77875) or to Ronald McDonald House (www.rmhbc.ca). Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Whenever I would see Ruby (whether it be in a picture or in person), she always had a twinkle in her eyes. Those twinkles now will be watching from the Sky.

I never met Ruby but Wes, you and I were friends way back in school and I am so deeply saddened to hear of your daughter’s passing. As a mother I cannot even fathom the loss that you and your family are experiencing. There is no doubt that your beautiful angel is watching over you all now, and I wish you all peace, comfort and healing as you find your way forward.
