We Remember

ROTH, Garry James

August 14, 1954 — February 27, 2025

In loving memory of Garry Roth, who passed away on February 27, 2025, at the age of 70 years.

Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, to the late Fred and Ruth Roth. Garry was known for the love he had for his family & friends. He loved to spend time helping his adult kids fix things around the house or outside. He also enjoyed watching them at their hockey & baseball games, he never missed a game. With his grandkids, he loved going for a ride in his T-Bird and stopping for ice cream.

Garry was a service rep for various companies regarding tools and hardware supplies. He worked hard while travelling, and it paid off – he became the top salesman several times. While travelling a lot, he put lots of miles on his car, but he didn’t mind, since he was able to purchase a new one every year.

In his retirement, Garry had to find something to do to get himself out of the house and have a sense of routine and purpose. He started a walking club with different men from the church and park. After the walk, they would head out to McDonald’s, Kekuli, or A&W for coffee. It was a great start to his day.

Garry & Lorraine bought a motorhome and started camping. It brought many pleasures with walking, bike riding, sitting by the campfire having delicious meals or playing cards. Garry also enjoyed going to plays, movie nights, and travelling – all of which were enjoyed with family & friends.

He was known for his favourite sayings like,”It is what it is!”, “Man o living”, and “Bob’s your uncle!”

Garry will be deeply missed by his wife of almost 50 years, Lorraine; children, Jeremy (Lisa) Roth, Christopher (Jen) Roth, and Janine (Rob) Brown; by his grandchildren, Jack Roth, Olivia Brown, and Quin Brown; and by his brothers, Dwight (Janet) Roth and Wayne (Marilyn) Roth.

The family would like to thank Dr. McNern, the nurses, and volunteers at Hospice for Garry’s care during his time of need. We would also like to thank the many friends that sat with Garry, brought food for the family, and their general prayer and support during this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna Hospice House.

A service will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 2:00 pm (PDT), at Emmanuel Church on the Westside, 2600 Hebert Rd, West Kelowna, BC.
