THIS SERVICE WILL BE LIVESTREAMED/BROADCAST ON TUESDAY, MARCH 15, 2022, AT 1:00 PM (see below)

Anne Rust passed away peacefully at Hospice House, Kelowna, BC, at the age of 89, on February 23, 2022.  Beloved wife of the late Raymond Rust (d. 2011), Annie Jessie was born in South Junction, Manitoba, a small town just north of the US border, on October 30, 1932.  She was the fourth child of George and Florence (née Maunder) Lewis and was predeceased by siblings Violet Gertrude “Trudy”, Hazel, William “Bill” and Edward “Ted”.

Anne was the much loved mom of Alyce (Glenn) Boraas, Ron (Anna) Rust, Rhonda (Brian) Furtney, Linda (Ted) Duck, Andy (Arlene) Rust, Nancy McCargar, Madeleine Rust; grandmother of 20; and great-grandmother of 11.

Anne will be missed by her family and her many friends at The Village of Mill Creek and Willow Park Church.  Over the years, she spent many happy hours volunteering at the Bibles for Missions Thrift Store and the BC Cancer Centre-Kelowna.  Anne had a zest for life and loved being with her friends.  She enjoyed puzzles of all types, calling bingo at Mill Creek, playing crib with her friends, music, reading any book she could get her hands on, and writing poetry.

Many thanks to Drs Steinruck and Morris and the staff at Hospice House Kelowna for the wonderful care Anne received.

Condolences

  • Sylvia Polachuk says:

I’m so sorry for the loss of your mother. Jim and I had many great times with Ray and Anne when we all lived in Mississauga. We were in the car when they had the accident with their new car.
We went on a weekend trip to the Finger Lakes in New York State and had so much fun. Lots of laughs
My husband Jim passed away in February 2020. I miss him so much so I know how you feel with your mom gone. One big empty hole in your heart. Do take care and God bless you and the rest of the family Sylvia Polachuk

  • Debra Schiissler says:

    To Anne’s Family.
My sincere condolences to you all. Anne was a dear friend to my Mom, Lottie, who lived at Mill Creek.
As we now live in North Vancouver, I could not attend Anne’s service in person, but I did attend virtually. It was a very beautiful service and Lynda, you created an amazing eulogy.
Thank you for sharing your Mom with my Mom. She made a huge difference in my Mom’s life. I will always be grateful for the love, care and kindness that she selflessly gave to Mom.
    Debbie Schiissler
