Went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the age of 58. Survived by his loving wife Riwon Kim; two daughters: Amanda Sampson, Teresa Sampson; two brothers: Doug Sampson (Judy), Terry Sampson (Cindy) and one sister Cathy (Mike). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul’s United Church, 3131 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna, BC, with Reverend Richard Chung officiating. Cremation to follow. Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 202-1835 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 3H5.

I am so sorry to hear of Len’s passing. I was priveledged to get to know him over the first aid and on hill training for ski patrol. Len and I really hit it off well and he always gave me such nice appreciative comments after each session. He even gave me me couple big bear hugs that really showed what a nice sincere man he was. Its funny of all the people that go through the course every year every now and then one or two just stand out from the crowd. This year Len was one of those people who just fit in and made everyone around him feel worthwhile and appreciated. I and the rest of Big White Ski Patrol will miss him very much.

I too, had the pleasure of getting to know Len through ski patrol training this year. What a wonderful person, a real giving man. In a very short time Len had positively influenced many. So sorry for your loss.

Lee, and family.So sorry to hear of Len’s passing. I will always remember Len as being someone who was very cordial, a gentle demeanor and had a great sense of humor. My heart goes out to you.
My deepest sympathies to the entire Sampson family.The loss of your father, husband, brother, is a difficult loss to bear when Len was so young, and passed so suddenly.I first met Len in Winnipeg in 1999 at a training course,and we became friends. Years later we ended up in the same Region in BC, and I got to know his wife and children.Lenny as I called him had a soft caring heart, and was the eternal optimist,always taking pleasure in the small things in life, like a great bike ride.
He gave many hours of his time to the Canadian Cancer Society and was instrumental in many others becoming part of the volunteer ranks there, and we were all so proud when he was selected to be on the National Board.
It is a sad sad day, but your memory will live on.

I am sorry to hear of Len’s passing. I belonged to the ski patrol with him and spent some time getting to know him through first aid training. He asked some thought provoking questions and had a good sense of humour (and a big smile) in class. He obviously had a good heart if he chose to volunteer to help people in distress. That is a good legacy.

I was deeply saddend to hear of Lens passing.
Although I didnt know Len well, I do have some fond memories of him and the talks (on everything under the sun)we would have while he would be at the Penticton Community center pool a few years back.
Our thougths are with the entire family, as Im sure he touched many lives that your not even aware of!
I was just today (March 12th) given the very sad and shocking news of Len’s passing. I worked with Len when he was @ the I.G. Penticton office and I was in the Osoyoos office. Len was such a genuinely friendly and caring individual. He was someone I always wanted to share stories with. We both attended a course in Vancouver, so drove there and back together. One of my best memories is our trip home–I have never, ever laughed so long and so hard as I did on that trip home. Len was a special person, loved and trusted by all who knew him. I haven’t been able to stop the tears today for such a special friend as Len was. My sincerest sympathy to Len’s wife, children and family. I know how deeply you will miss him. I am so grateful to have had the privilege to have known him as a terrific colleague and a salt of the earth gentleman. I look forward to the day we meet again. May God Bless all Len’s family, as Len has blessed all of us who knew him.

I only found out today than Len has passed away. I too had the pleasure orf working with Len for a short while, I was fortunate to do some travelling with Len while working for FBC. Without a doubt Len was one of the funniest, and kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. My heart goes out to the family. Len was a great person, and I am sure he is smiling down on all of us now.
To all of Len’s family who I know he loved so dearly, I am so sorry to learn of his loss! Len was a wonderful guy and I truly enjoyed his company when I worked at Investors Group. Thinking of you during this very difficult time.
