We Remember
SANDHU, Gurminder Singh “Gordie”
—
1975 – 2024
Gurminder “Gordie” Singh Sandhu passed away on November 21, 2024, in Kelowna, BC; He was 49 years old. Gordie was born in Fort St. James, BC, in 1975, and was the beloved son of Herbajhan Singh Sandhu and Joginder Kaur Sandhu.
Gordie was a devoted husband to his wife of 25 years, Sonia Kaur Sandhu, and a loving and proud father to his three children: Ajeet, Maya, and Roman. His family meant the world to him, and he worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for them, showing them the true meaning of dedication and hard work.
After graduating from Oliver Senior Secondary in 1992, Gordie embarked on a successful career as a businessman, driven by his ambition and a strong sense of responsibility. He poured his heart into his work, particularly his cherry farms, where he found immense pride in every harvest. For Gordie, the farm was more than just a business – it was a labour of love. He found joy in the rhythm of the land, the changing seasons, and the satisfaction of knowing he was building a future for his family.
Gordie’s life was marked by his generous spirit, a warm sense of humour, and a deep love for those around him. He was a man who found immense joy in being surrounded by family and friends. His home was always a place of laughter, love, and camaraderie, and he cherished every moment spent in the company of those he cared for. His strength, resilience, and unwavering support will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
From a young age, Gordie had a passion for adventure and a dream of becoming a cowboy, a dream he carried with him throughout his life. This love for the cowboy spirit extended to his undying loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys football team, a passion he passed down to his two sons, Ajeet and Roman. The joy they shared as a family while cheering on their team will remain a cherished memory for all who witnessed it.
Gordie will be deeply missed by his wife, children, extended family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Though he is no longer with us, his memory will forever be etched in our minds, and his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
Rest in peace, Gordie. You will forever be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
