SANGHERA, Sardarni Jasbir Kaur
February 3, 1949 — August 25, 2026
D/o Late Dr. Gurbachan S. Basran and Late Ajit Kaur Basran.
She passed away after a long and tough battle with cancer on August 25, 2026.
She was born on February 3, 1949, in the village of Dhada Kalan, Punjab, India. Her family included four sisters and two brothers.
She completed her studies and became a school teacher in Punjab. She married Sardar Sucha Singh Sanghera of Village Pharwala on March 31, 1974.
She is survived by her husband Sardar Sucha Singh and her three children (and their spouses): Kamaljit Singh, Rupinder Kaur, and Jasmit Singh. She has 5 grandchildren.
Jasbir had a great passion for farming and nature in India, and she followed this passion when she immigrated to Canada in 1996. Ever since she moved with her family to Kelowna in 2005 to live on a farm, she enjoyed spending her time helping to grow and care for the plants and crops. She was very proud of her children following in her footsteps and eagerly watching them grow. She was also interested in health and fitness and lived an active daily life. She will be greatly missed by family, relatives, and friends.
The funeral service will be held on September 5, 2026, at 1:00 pm (PDT), at Springfield Funeral Home (2020 Springfield Rd, Kelowna, BC V1Y 5V8).If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view in 3-5 days.
Path da Bhog will be held on September 5, 2026, at 3:00 pm, at Okanagan Sikh Temple (1111 Rutland Rd N, Kelowna, BC V1X 4T7).
