Phil Schafer passed away on September 4, 2022, in Kelowna, BC at the age of 90 years, after suffering with Parkinson’s Disease for 25 years. He is survived by his wife Dolores; children Barry (Aaron), Robin, and Charlene; and his siblings George, Eddie, Dave, Bernice, Marie, Tony, and James. Phil was predeceased by his parents Eugenia (d. 2001) and Anton (d. 1996); and his brothers Sylvester (d.1962), Joe (d. 2005), and Ben (d. 2022).
Phil was born in Medicine Hat, AB and grew up in the Greencorn, SK area. He worked in the sheet metal industry for over 40 years before retiring in 1996. Phil volunteered at the Royal Canadian Legion in Calgary AB, and was made an Honourary Member at the Army and Navy Club in Kelowna. He loved traveling around Alberta and BC in the motorhome.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 1:00 pm, at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. f you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.
