We Remember

SCHEWE, Valerie Ann

February 13, 1952 — June 30, 2024

Valerie Ann Schewe passed away peacefully, while surrounded by family on June 30, 2024, at the age of 72.

She is survived by her loving daughter Erin; son Adam (Misty); grandchildren Reagan and Evan; brother Phil (Nella); nephews Andy (Amy) and Nathan; and grandnephew Oliver; as well as numerous extended family in Northern Ireland, and a long time best friend, Wendy Casey. Val was predeceased by her mother and father, Vera and Sam Milligan; and her husband, Michael Schewe.

Val was born in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, and moved to Edmonton, Alberta at a young age. She then came to live in Kelowna in the early 80s, where she created lasting friendships and memories, particularly during her lengthy career at Air Canada.

As Val was an avid animal lover, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the BC SPCA.

There will be a private family memorial to be held at a later date.

A special thank you for the care Val received from the ICU team at the Kelowna General Hospital. Their kindness and compassion did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated.
