We Remember

SCHLOSSER, Gail Carolyn (née Snelson)

November 26, 1941 — September 23, 2022

Gail C. Schlosser, on September 23, 2022, joined the Lord, her husband John (d. 2021), her mother Nedra Snelson (d. 2007), and her dad Hoyt Snelson (d. 1979).  She passed away peacefully at Sun Point Village.

Born November 26, 1941, in Calgary, Alberta, Gail was living in Edmonton, AB, when, in 1957 she moved with her mother, Nedra Snelson, to Kelowna, BC. There, she met her future husband, John.

Starting out in Vancouver, BC the family moved to Kelowna in 1975. Gail was a loving wife and mother and raised 3 daughters. She was a nurse until her children came, a domestic Goddess and an Office Manager/”girl Friday” for Canwest Design Group working with her husband.  She was an avid gardener and deeply involved in her faith at St. Charles Garnier Parish.

Gail was always kind, humorous, and had an air about her that made those around her feel loved and comfortable. Her family and friends will deeply mourn her passing

Gail is held dear in the hearts of her daughters, Teresa (Saeed) Anwar, Angela (Daniel) Wallenius, and Jennifer Schlosser.  She leaves behind her grandchildren Karina (Josh) Richmond and Devon Matkovich; and great-grandchildren Riley, Thera, & Benjamin Matkovich and Season Richmond.  She will also be missed by her sister, Lynn (Paul) Kirkland.

We’d like to thank Anita Fee for her weekly Wednesday visits with our mom while she was going through Alzheimer’s stages at home; Nicole Fransen who thought of Gail as a second mom and visited her frequently while she was at Sun Point Village, and thank you to the staff at Sun Point Village for taking great care of our mom.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
