We Remember
SCHMIDTKE, Alex
—
Alex passed away suddenly on September 7, 2016 at the age of 82, after a great day of fishing. He is survived by his loving wife Emily, children Erwin (Eunice), Karin Schmidtke-Hone (Gordon), Eddie (Tamara), grandchildren Alexandra Pauls (Kevin), Ashley Gunn (Brad), Carson, Avery, Kalan, Daryn and sister Erika McLeod. Alex loved to spend time with family, friends, fishing, hunting and being in nature – not necessarily in that order :).

Alex will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We wish you all the deepest sympathies, Alex always made us smile and our children loved his kind personality and always made them feel at home when he saw them. I am glad we are able to attend his service on Friday. Best wishes from the Olah family.
Thank you Margot.
Lynda and I only met Alex a few times at Erwin and Eunice’s home but we crossed paths with him many times hiking through the rose valley trails. We always enjoyed visiting with him. Always smiling and eager to talk. Erwin’s stories of his dads adventures are always fun to hear.
Take care
Greg and Lynda
Thank you for the kind thoughts.
I was with Alex on his last fishing trip. He spent the day talking about his family and out fished me as usual! I will miss my fishing buddy.
Thank you so much John, it was nice to meet you and your wife. Our family appreciates everything you did and are happy you were chosen to spend time with my dad that day. Kind Blessings to you and your family.
