My memories of Albert go wayback to Ralph Maybank School, if I remember correct. Thanks for your 60 + years of friendship Albert.
Very sorry to the family upon hearing of Al’s passing. He was my trainer when I joined New Holland in 1997. He gave me great guidance and teaching to get me up to speed quickly in this new company. He continued to call weekly to see how I was doing and just chat about life. Al was a great friend in those early days. We had a lot of fun in those Calgary branch days. Thank you very much for all the help, guidance, and friendship sir!! Rest In Peace, Al
Gayle’s, Daniel, Aron, Ainslie and Families,
We are so sadden to hear of Al’s passing! Despite his health challenges of recent years he remained the upbeat, fun, positive and easy going guy we all loved. Our memories of warm destination work trips with New Holland and long weekend shenanigans in Saskatchewan lake locations remain our favourite times spent with your family! Al was always a supportive work colleague and friend! Although distance made personal visits less frequent, he was always an eager ear on the other end of the phone or email. His jokes, crazy antics and dress ups will always be remembered with a smile and some with both still and video proof! His loss will be greatly felt by all of you, but know in your hearts how much he loved you and how proud he was of his family! Our many conversations reflected the pride he felt for his family!
In the sad days ahead, remember him with a big smile! He was one of a kind and yes he will be missed but he left such a legacy in all of you!
All our Love and Hugs 🥰
Jim, Heather, Britany, Lara and Carly
We are very sorry for your loss. Al was a wonderful friend and I loved his sense of humor. He also was very fun to work with during our years with New Holland. He will be missed.

I just heard from Ted Hawley about Albert’s passing. I know he’d been teasing the unknown for some time, given his health issues, but I found him both philosophical and gentle about it. Al was of those guys who, our having met young in life, just picked up where we last left off – despite the great separation of time and distance. I remember his long hair and craziness as a Fort Garry kid (there are pictures). Then, years later, the easy, widow-peaked look of a Robert Mitchum, cowboy hat tilted slightly back, eyes watchful but amused… Hmm, I’m pretty sure this is what Al told me to write about him when we were last at Ted’s cottage on Clearwater Bay (LOTW) some years back but, even if my memory’s a tad flawed (he might have mentioned, ever hopeful, the Gary Cooper of our parents), it’s the Al I’ll remember with fondness and respect. We also had another chance to talk, catch up and ponder our lives (a good friend had just gone) and I came away thinking what a fine and generous person Albert really was – the boy I knew and the man he became. And I’m not alone in this. While others have their own words about him, these are mine. And from the heart. Godspeed Albert and thank you for the privilege of having known you. Cheers, Rick
(And know, I know you know, you’ll always be one of the ‘boyz’ – Ted, Stan, Kenny, Bruce, Ray, and me). We’ll miss you, laughter and all…
Dear Gaylen and family,

May Al rest in peace.
