We Remember
SCHUSTER, Erwin
March 29, 1954 — May 7, 2022
It is with the deepest sorrow, that we as a family, announce the passing of a truly special and much loved husband, father and grandfather, who left this world all too soon.
Erwin passed away May 7, 2022, peacefully in his sleep, after many years battling heart disease.
He was a devoted husband, had a special loving bond with his three children, and was thrilled and overjoyed to be called Opa by the 5 grandchildren he so truly adored. He also leaves behind a large extended family both in Canada and in Germany.
Erwin immigrated to Canada from his beloved homeland of Germany in 1975 looking for adventure. He began a career in the Aircraft manufacturing and Automotive Industries that would span over 40 years that began in Toronto, ON and eventually lead him, and his family, to Kelowna, BC in 1992. He had a superior work ethic and was liked and admired by all those that he worked with through the years.
His passions in life included music, books, travel, and good food & wine, but most importantly, to be surrounded by and spend his time with family and the many friends he made throughout the years. He was a joyful, peaceful, loving soul that will be terribly missed by all those that had the true pleasure of knowing him during his short but happy life.
Erwin’s memory will be cherished by Ramona, his wife of 43 years; his children Kristopher (Kendall), Stefan (Ashley), & Bianca; his grandchildren Adelaide, Daxen, Alina, Felix, & Ethan; his siblings Richard (Beate), Rita (Andreas), and Marika (Uwe); his nephews Johannes, Sebastian & Lukas; his mother-in-law Christine Till; and many more extended family members, as well as dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents Herbert & Pauline Schuster and his father-in-law Peter Till.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of your choice in Erwin’s memory.
A Funeral Service will be held on WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 2022, at 4:00 PM (PDT), at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. Dear Ramona and family, when I heard that Erwin passed away I was in shock. My deepest Condolences to you Ramona with family. Just a few weeks ago I was making a list of people I lost contact with and Erwin and you Ramona were on top of that list! Ramona, I just live 2 hours south and I would like to see you again whenever you are ready. Our old times more than 20 years back will always live in my heart and Erwin has a special spot. God bless you…
My deepest condolences are sent to a long time friend Ramona, and the entire family, and many of his closest friends over the years. I so remember when Ramona and Irwin met at the German Club in Toronto, and their amazing wedding. I so wish I could be there for you right now Ramona, but do know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Many blessings are sent across the many miles to you today and for the tomorrows ahead. With saddened heart, Gaby
Dear Ramona and family,
Unfortunately my acquaintance with Erwin was a short time but I always found him to be gentle and kind. He gave most generously of his time to the council at the Moguls at Big White. We were very fortunate to have him at the helm along with Ramona. We shall miss his expertise and guidance. Please accept our condolences.
