We Remember

SEEMANN, Helmut

October 8, 1923 — May 9, 2014

Born in Straubing, Bavaria, Germany.  Died suddenly but peacefully on May 9, 2014, in his home in Kelowna, BC at the age of 90 years with his niece Barbara Februar at his side.   Professor, engineer, piano tuner, flutist, cellist, pianist and composer.  Soldier (Finland), prisoner of war (France).  Sailor, photographer and world traveller.  Always a gentleman.  Hele, we were so privileged to be able to have spent these last nine months with you and will miss you terribly! Barbara Februar and husband Al Schmalz.  Many thanks to Dana Jones at the Aurora clinic, the staff of Hawthorn Park, Bayshore, and nurse Lorna.  At his request, Helmut has been cremated.  A celebration of his life will take place in Ottawa later this year.  If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”
