SERVI, Louisa
November 2, 1926 — June 12, 2012
Mrs. Louisa Servi, age 85 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Louisa was born in Bajti, Gorizia, Italy (now Slovenia) on November 2, 1926 to Luigi and Maria Markic. She immigrated to Canada in 1950, settling in Port Arthur. She enjoyed cooking and working in the garden. Family came first in Louisa’s life and it was during times when her family was together that she was happiest. She and her husband Franco retired to British Columbia in 1990, returning to Thunder Bay regularly to visit family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Lucy (Cosimo) Valente, Rita (Spencer) Robson and Dario (Tarja) Servi; grandchildren: Shana and Andria Valente, Kayla and Tyler Robson, Daina, Samantha, Leon Servi and Landenne (Conrad) Fournier; great grandson Conrad Fournier, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in both Italy and Slovenia. She was predeceased by her husband Franco, infant son Andrea, her parents Luigi and Maria Markic, sister Maria and brother Joseph. A Vigil Service was held in Thunder Bay, Ontario. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 10:30 am at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 750 Rutland Road North, Kelowna, BC with Father Otto Rollheiser OMI as Celebrant. Interment to follow at 1:30 pm in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4 – 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9.

My heart is very sad, learning of the passing of Mrs. Servi. I have known her for 6 years through one of her Dr’s offices. It was such a pleasure to have known her, and I will miss her early visits and chats at my office. My sincere condolences to her loving family. She will be missed!!
