Francis, Richard , Gail, Barry, Monica and Families,
Emil & I would like to extend our sincere condolences to you all on the Loss of your beautiful Mother. She was a very liked kind person. She will be missed by all but she has left many wonderful memories that everyone will cherish. God bless you Auntie Effie but you will now be with your husband Frank and your daughter Dianna and your siblings, Mary and Peter. She will always be in our hearts as the wonderful person she was. Rest in Peace
With deep regrets we cannot be there, but will always remember how aunt Effie and Uncle Frank opened their home every Ukrainian Christmas Eve for us. With such a large family of their own they still always remembered to invite us. Sadly we miss those days of fellowship.
We were so saddened to hear of Effie’s passing. Words can’t describe how sorry we are. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Dear Shalagan Family,
I am so sorry to read about the passing if your wonderful Mom. We always loved to see her in the branch. My deepest condolences to you all at this difficult time.
Jill Kroes
Sending sincere condolences to you all on the passing of your mother. Growing up, Aunt Effie always took the time to ask how I was doing and genuinely wanted to know the answer. Conversations with her were enjoyable, especially her household “tricks and tips” that she often shared. She will be fondly remembered as a patient, kind and gracious lady.
With warm thoughts and prayers,
Marilyn and Drew Brimacombe
Please accept our long past due condolences, on the passing of your beautiful Mother. I learned of her passing quite some time ago through my niece in Kelowna. Mrs. Shalagan (I never could call her Effie) was a very special lady to me over the years. We lived across the street from each other in Edmonton, and were country neighbors in the Enoch area for several years until the Shalagans moved to Kelowna. Mrs. Shalagan helped me out with many aspects of my life such as altering clothes, to babysitting, to helping me paint our house when we moved to the acreage. Her daughters Gail and Monica also babysat numerous times over the years. Mrs. Shalagan and I always had a good visit, and shared many good laughs. What I cherish from her is her fabulous recipe for dill pickles. It has become legendary in our family, and now my children (especially Ken) and now grandchildren too are learning to make the famous dill pickles. Over the years I have had many, many compliments of my dills. The last time I spoke to Mrs. Shalagan was either on her 90th or 91st birthday, so thought it appropriate that I should touch base on this her 95th birthday.
God Bless all of her children, and may cherished memories sustain them. You had a wonderful, wonderful Mother.
Much Love, Vicky and Phil Baril
