In 1998 they moved to Kelowna and resided in the Sandalwood adult gated community, where he enjoyed the Clubhouse playing pool, card games and socializing with many wonderful friends. His love for family was unconditional and also included his many nieces, nephews as well as Joe’s children and families.
Honorable and gentle in all his ways,
Upright and just to the end of your days.
Sincere and kind in heart and mind,
What a beautiful memory you left behind.

I’m so sorry to learn of Eldon’s passing. For 15 years he was my neighbour across the way who always lended me a hand whenever he saw the change. One of his two wood face sculptures on his wall came from me as a trade-off. I now live in Castlegar so won’t be able to make it for his service at Sandalwood on Sunday, but my thoughts will be there. With sincere condolences, Barb Shave
So sorry to hear of the passing of Eldon, he was a great asset to the Sandalwood community and will surely be missed.
My deepest Sympathy to the family.
Our deepest condolences to all of Uncle Eldon’s family and friends. We will always remember you each time we look at the beautiful burl clocks you made for us. We are so lucky to have had such a kind, gentle and talented person in our family. Your good solid morals were an inspiration and the financial advice you shared with us was really appreciated. It must have been very disappointing for you when the Canadian Mint stopped producing the penny as the saying “Every Penny Counts” had so much meaning to you.. We hope you were able to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow on your road to the “Pearly Gates”. Have a great time renewing acquaintances with Auntie Lorna and all your family and friends that have left before you. Mom will sure miss your Saturday night telephone calls. Love Bob, Wendy, Rob and Auntie Astrid
I first met Eldon when he and his friend, another Eldon, came to the same coffee shop I attended. He became a good friend to our small group. After the death of the other Eldon he began to go to A&W and it was there that I met him again. Each Sunday morning we would read the paper and chat about any number of things – he particularly liked talking about his family and obviously loved them very much. A few weeks ago he told me not to worry if he did not get there each week since some weeks he was tired. He had a tremendous laugh and interest in life. I will miss those Sunday morning visits.
I am going to miss a special Uncle. He was always so genuinely interested in how his nieces and nephews were doing. My thoughts and prayers are with Diane and Debra and families. He will be greatly missed.
