We Remember
SMITH, Sharleen Viola (née Adam)
December 11, 1969 — January 23, 2024
It is with great sadness and a deep love that we announce the loss of Sharleen Viola Smith, who passed away peacefully at the age of 54, with her loving husband Darren and dog Ava Claire by her side.
Sharleen goes to join those who went before her, including her mom, Joyce Adam, and her beloved daughter, Samantha Adam. Left to treasure her memory is her husband, Darren; granddaughter, Isabella Nehar; father, Charley, and stepmother (Mom), Yvette; brother, Lee (Jacinta); sister-in-law Christine (Terry); as well as the Phaneuf family and the Barnbrook family.
Born on December 11, 1969, in New Westminster, BC, Sharleen was lovingly welcomed into her parent’s lives, after Charley and Joyce made their way through a snowstorm to adopt her. Sharleen was the light of their lives, with her outgoing and driven demeanour she made those around her feel inspired. Her extraversion persisted throughout the entirety of her life; she always ensured that if you went to a party where you didn’t know anybody, Sharlene would’ve introduced you to everyone by the end of the night! She was gentle, yet strong-willed, and was never shy about telling those around her what she thought. Sharlene loved her friends and family fiercely; along with her little dog, her baby, Ava Claire, whom she even shared a birthday with.
Captivated by the colour pink, Sharleen’s love and use of pink left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing her. In every encounter you have with her favourite colour, let it serve tender, cherished memories, and a loving tribute to the enduring spirit of Sharleen.
A Celebration of Life in Sharleen’s honour will be held at a later date.
