SOUSA, Antonio (Tony)
October 25, 1936 — October 17, 2016
Born October 25, 1936, and passed away October 17, 2016 at age 79. Survived by his wife, Winnie; two sons Jose (Brenda) in Edmonton and Tony (Julie) in Victoria; seven grandchildren: Justin (Liana), Chris (Shauna), Steven, Megan (Steven Barnes), Adam, Joshua, and Sam; and 6 great grandchildren: Ceilidh, Keredyn, Jonah, Emilia, Gillian, and Luke. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Effie Van Eck (Fort Macleod), 6 sisters-in-law and 5 brothers-in-law. Tony was born in Santa Maria, Acores, coming to Canada in 1963. He worked in Saskatchewan and many years in Lethbridge as a bricklayer. He married Winnie in 1985 and moved to Kelowna to pursue farming as a hobby while working at Cottonwoods and KGH. He loved all his animals, especially his dogs, as well as growing big vegetable gardens. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at noon at Corpus Christi Parish, 750 Rutland Road, Kelowna, followed by inurnment in St Theresa’s Cemetery. We wish to thank Dr. Andrew Watson for his many years of kind caring and the many other medical professionals who tended to all the health issues over the years. You are all very appreciated.

I am so sorry for your loss, Tony was a wonderful, kind man with a great sense of humour. I miss seeing you both at the Dr’s office. My thoughts are with you Winnie and your family during this sad time. He will be missed!!
Our deepest sympathy to you and your family on the loss of Tony. Although it has been many years since we saw Tony we always thought oh him with great fondness. Tony was a very special man, funny, thoughtful and caring. The times we spent together bring back great memories. His laugh was so contagious! So very sorry for your loss Winnie.

Winnie – I was so incredibly sorry and saddened to hear about Tony passing away. I have such fond memories of our time in Kelowna with you both – playing with the dogs, chicks and other farm animals, carving the largest pumpkins ever, or simply telling jokes and laughing to name a few. He will be sorely missed. My heart and thoughts are with you at this difficult time. All our love.
