We Remember

SPEIGHT, Audrey Erma

January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970

Went to be with the Lord, with family by her side, on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the age of 95. She is survived by her loving family: daughter Audrelyn of Kelowna; son Gary (Barbara) of Kelowna; daughter-in-law Helen (Bob) of Ontario, 5 grandchildren, Kathy, Gary, Stephen, Darrin and Audrelyn; 7 great grandchildren, Steven, Joshua, Michael, Matthew, Cameron, Joshua and Jordan; great great granddaughter, Mackenzie; and special friends Lucille, Ella and Maureen. Audrey is sadly predeceased by her son John, husband Wilson, daughter-in-law Kathleen and granddaughter Suzanne. Audrey was born in Hamilton, Ontario and retired to Kelowna in 1990. In her younger years she was very active in the community, volunteering with Big Brothers and the Ontario Hospital in Hamilton. During retirement she loved to travel and loved her family above all else. We’ll have her in our hearts forever. A special thank you to the staff of the Cypress area at Cottonwoods for the loving care they gave to our mom. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, with Pastor Allen Hern officiating.

It saddened me to read the announcement in today’s Spectator of the passing of your dear mother. I recall the days when she worked alongside my mother, Gladys, in the Auxiliary at the Ontario Hospital on Hamilton mountain. They became fast friends and had lots of good times together. Over the years, I have thought of your family many times. My prayers for all of you.
    God bless.
