It is with heavy hearts that the family of Tony announce his sudden passing on November 22, 2021.
Tony was born November 20, 1975, to parents Grant and Andrea in Toronto, Ontario. He leaves behind his wife Ruby and son Jasper, whom he loved more than anything in this world. He also leaves his best friend and sister Nancy Murphy, her husband Simon and his nieces Ali and Katie.
Tony will always be lovingly remembered by his extended family members from many parts of Canada and the United States; and his many friends that he has made over his 46 years.
Over the years Tony’s path in life took many directions, always in search of the ultimate and adventurous career. He was a pilot, construction worker, heavy equipment operator, fireman, avionics technician, and an athlete.
His love for the outdoors was only surpassed by his unbreakable bond with his son Jasper. They hiked, biked, skied, swam, played baseball, racquet ball, played video games, and worked out at the gym. He was a loyal, positive and fun-loving dad and friend, as well as a hardworking and dutiful employee.
Tony will be remembered for his beautiful smile, love of life, his passion for adventure, his heart of gold, and his endless love for his son Jasper, family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2021 at 4:00 PM (PST) at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. Following Covid-19 restrictions, this service will require attendees to show proof of vaccination and a gov. issued photo ID, and the number of attendees will be limited. The Barry & Louise Soper Family is so sorry to hear about Tony’s passing, far too young! We have fond memories of Tony, especially in his younger days – from Brookridge Drive, North Vancouver and when Louise baby-sat Tony – as part of the Spitz-Soper-Millar ‘baby-sitting exchange program’! We remember Tony as a vibrant, cheerful, athletic & positive-vibe young man – full of life and good nature for all those with whom he interacted. Tony will be missed by all who knew him.

We are deeply deeply saddened to hear of Tony’s passing. He was a regular around our kitchen table for so many years and was like part of our family.. We have so many fond memories of Tony; his laughter, his kindness, his infectious smile, his baseball skills and command of the mound, hearing his car come down our street with his music thumping, and so many more. He was one in a million. We are truly gutted and know that are thoughts are with you.

Dear Andrea, Grant and family. We grieve Tony’s sudden and tragic loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this unimaginable time.
We are saddened to hear of Tony’s passing and send you our heartfelt condolences. Sarah and I shared some memories of their time in preschool days, when Tony would make us laugh with his claim that “my dad will smash you to smidgereenies”. He was usually directing this warning to a toy Darth Vader or a stuffy of course. We wish you well and hope you all find peace knowing how much Tony was loved.
I remember to this day having dinner and laughing with Ruby and Tony in our apartment. Tony: an incredible soul that was an inspiration to many. We are sending our deepest love to you.

His laugh, smile and twinkle in his eye would always fill up a room and make him endearing to anyone he was with. I didn’t know Tony well, but every time we visited, it was clear, Tony had a zest for life. Once at my parents home in North Carolina, there was a small chimney fire. Tony was the first on the roof with a water house and after it was all handle he was all smiles jovially commenting on the excitement. We are so sorry for your loss; our hearts are with each of you. I joined the celebration of life for Tony on Livestream just now. Thank you for providing that opportunity. It was a moving experience and a lovely way to get to know more about Tony through the eyes of his family and friends.

Having been part of the Spitz family for many years through marriage to Max, I know how heartbreaking this tragedy must be. I miss all of you and know that Tony was so blessed to be a member of this family.
Sincerely devastating news, so many stories so many memories that will never be forgotten. Tony was one of a kind and created so many adventures that I will never forget. Tony is front and center of a lot of my memories through high school years and through my 20s.From the Omni, to the EXP, to the SHO(sorry mr.spitz), to renting boats, or in Whistler, Osoyoss, camping, there was NEVER a dull moment!
