We Remember
STANDEN, Glen
August 29, 1942 — September 10, 2024
It is with great sadness and profound love that we announce the loss of Glen Standen, who passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his home on September 10, 2024, at the age of 82.
Left to hold him dear to their hearts is a wealth of love, including his loving wife of 6 years, June Rousson; children Jamie, Jodi (Tony), Dennis (Silvia), Donald, Randy (Lee-Anne), Michelle (Allan), and Cherie; grandchildren Danny, Carli, Giancarlo, Aliah, and Cameron; as well as June’s 12 grandchildren who all loved him like a grandfather. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren Charley and Madi; as well as 12 great-grandchildren of June’s whom he loved like his own; and siblings Wilma, Clarice (Roy), Fred, Trudy, and June’s brother Gary (Betty); along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Glen now goes to join those who passed before him, including his parents Bill and Freda; wife Pat; daughter Glenna; sisters Shirley (Herb) and June (George); brothers-in-law Wilf and Glen; and sister-in-law Pat.
Glen was born August 29, 1942, in Kindersley, Saskatchewan to William and Freda Standen. Glen married Pat Cudmore, in May of 1962. They were blessed with three children, Glenna, Jamie, and Jodi. Glen was a very approachable, kind, caring, and loving person. He was always smiling, and laughing, and cared deeply about his family and friends. After Pat’s passing, Glen emerged himself in work and golf. Glen loved to golf and was a member of Mission Creek Golf and Country Club in Kelowna, where his goal every year was to play at least 100 rounds.
When Pat passed away Glen was very lost and lonely for nine years. By chance he met an old friend from school, they became close, and June became his partner for the past six years. They travelled to Arizona every winter, drove to Tickleberry’s for ice cream, and had many little adventures. They lived their last six years together going on adventures together.
A Memorial Reception was held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 2:00 pm, in the Family Centre at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
A Celebration of Life will also take place on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2024, at 1:00 PM (CST), at ST. PAUL’S UNITED CHURCH, 502 Main Street, Kindersley, Saskatchewan.
