We Remember

STANVILOFF, Molly (née Bloodoff)

August 13, 1935 — October 5, 2025

Molly Stanviloff passed away peacefully in Grand Forks, British Columbia, at the age of 90.

She was born on August 13, 1935, in Veregin, Saskatchewan, to Nicholas and Helen Bloodoff. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Paul, as well as by her husband John Stanviloff, with whom she shared over 70 years of marriage.

Molly is survived by her daughter Shelley Behl (Murray) and their children Heather Cameron (Victor) and Julie Bernhardt (Mark); and by her son Terry Stanviloff (Linda) and their children James, Richie (Jamie), and Robbie (Veronica) Stanviloff. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren Nick, Myles, June, Emmitt, Chase, and Violet.

After spending their early years in Saskatchewan, Molly and John moved to Kamloops, then Port Moody, before retiring to Kelowna, where they lived for almost 30 years. They also enjoyed many winters in Yuma, Arizona. Everywhere they lived, they made lasting friendships and fond memories. In 2024, Molly moved to Silver Kettle Village in Grand Forks to be near her daughter and son-in-law.

In her later years, Molly was private by nature and preferred the quiet company of those closest to her. She valued her routines and found pleasure in simple things, especially playing bingo. She was devoted to her friends and family, valued the importance of keeping in touch, and was incredibly proud of her loved ones.

The family is grateful to the staff at Silver Kettle for their kindness and support, as well as to the entire medical team at Boundary Hospital for their excellent, compassionate care during Molly’s short stay.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Molly may be made through the Kootenay Boundary Regional Health Foundation. Visit: kbrhhealthfoundation.ca, then select Donate now and ‘Boundary Hospital’ from the drop-down menu.

At a later date, a private family gathering will be held in Saskatchewan to honour Molly’s life.
