We Remember
STASS, Margund “Gunde”
November 29, 1938 — June 20, 2021
Margund Stass, 82, went to be with the Lord peacefully on June 20, 2021. At the time, Gunde was at home and surrounded by her family. Always the dreamer, she went back to the light, but her dream will live on.
Born in Germany, Gunde married and had a family they left in Germany in 1976 to live in Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Guatemala with her. In 1980, they moved to British Columbia, Canada, and she loved her new home country, especially the Okanagan. She loved to read & write. And, she was always there for us, with all her warmth, support and lots of love.
In the words of her son Dirk, “My mother gave me life, just like every mother. When I came down with Cerebral Cortex Meningitis, she isolated herself with me in quarantine for two months, and she saved my life when I was three. Momma, I Love You!”
Margund is loved by a circle of friends and family that stretches across the globe and across time, including her children Dirk and Ralf Stass; her grandchildren Darcy, Kattlin, Brad, River, and Zathy’a Stass; her great-grandchild Benny Stass; as well as her brother- and sister-in-law Reiner & Brigitte Stass, and their children and grandchildren; sister-in-law Thea and all her children, grand-, and great-grandchildren in Germany; and her bother-in-law Theo and his dear wife Ursula Kleinz also in Germany.
She goes to join her loved ones who have gone before her, including her husband Bruno, who passed in 2019; her parents Theresia & Franz Thelem; and brother Sep. Josef Thelem; and her sister Thea Kleinz.
We all will miss you and will remember you, always!
A Private Family Service will take place to honour Margund.
