We Remember

STEPHENSON, Myrna
—
On October 11, 2023, Myrna Stephenson went to join her loved ones who have passed before her: her beloved husband, Harold, and her brother, Denis. She will be held dearly in the hearts of those she left behind: her daughter Margo, son Brad (Cathy), and son Scott (Denise); her grandchildren Keaton, Sheldon, Tyler, Brittney, and Mathew; her great-grandchildren, Memphis, Georgia, Axson, Gypsy, Peyton, Hadley, Scarlett, and Emma; her sister Gina; and even her four legged family, her granddogs, Murphy and Me-la.
Myrna was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, and raised in Coquitlam, BC. She later lived in Delta, BC and Surrey, BC, before finding her home in the Okanagan region. Myrna had a genuine passion for hosting dinners, cooking, and entertaining. She thrived in the company of her family and friends, bringing vibrancy to every gathering with her outgoing and social nature. She truly was the life of the party.
Family and friends will honour her, each in their own way. No formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
If you wish to send a condolence, post photos, or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.
I am truly sorry for your loss. Although I didn’t know Myrna very well, I know she was loved by many. Sending lots of love and hugs.
Myrna first came to my home as a housekeeper .. She was looking to boost her pension moneys with some “ Party and Cruise” funds. We instantly became fast friends . She reminded me so much of my Mom with her kind spirit , her no nonsense attitude, amazing wit , and the biggest heart ♥️ all encased in a tiny little frame, hauling her stepladder and gear to “Get Atter” .
Our two Big Dogs at the time ( Kesha and Charlie ) who I’m certain outweighed her , and the Parrot Rico adored her from day one . She had her own special way of connecting with them, and their absolute excitement to see her come through the door made my heart so happy ( And a little jealous maybe ) Wondering if she was filling her pockets with pork chops or something .
While Myrna first came to help get my house in order , over the many years she on occasion , helped me keep my “Life in order” when I was pulled all around in different directions and making every effort to stay on track .
Housekeeper , House Sitter , Dog Sitter , Parrot Keeper , Confidant, Shoulder, Loyal , Loving, Mentor, Dearest of Friends .
She was so Very Proud of her children , Prouder of their children , And over the moon with the arrivals of the Greats . Her Pride .
So great full to have had years and laughs , and tears and stories and wine and good food and our comfort in each other .
I know I’m a better Woman for it . Rest in Love my dear Friend
.
Sending our love to you all. We will always remember Myrna’s laughter, her kindness, her love, and treats she never missed giving to our pets, and will never forget the Christmas gift of her carrot cake.
With love, Larry, Stella, Krista, Kaily and Trevor
Such wonderful memories, her smile, her humour and her endless energy. That lady could run circles around us. Thank you for bringing happiness and love to those around you!
I was so sorry to hear of Myrna’s passing. I knew her for only a short time but soon realized that she was a very special person. She loved her family and always had nice things to say about people. She enjoyed a good laugh. She will be missed.
