Wendy passed away on August 2, 2021, in Kelowna, BC.
She was born October 1, 1952, in Trenton, Ontario to her parents Jack and Verna Pomeroy. Wendy was raised in an Air Force family. She and her family, parents Jack and Verna, siblings Jackie and Ted, moved often. The Pomeroy family even went as far as Germany.
She met the love of her life, James, at 15 years old and they were together ever since. They spent 54 beautiful years together, 48 of which married. They had two children together Kristen and Cory. As James was RCMP, she kept up with her family tradition of moving. Wendy and James made friends and lifelong connections as they moved from place to place with their family.
She learned early in life how to connect with people. She spoke to everyone she met like they were old friends.
Wendy’s family was most important to her, especially her grandchildren.
Wendy was a big personality in the family and brought people together for special occasions. She was always hosting parties and events because she just wanted everyone to be together and share some laughter.
She leaves behind her mother, Verna; her husband of 48 years, James; her daughter Kristen Tremblay (Derek); her son Cory (Michelle); her 7 grandchildren: Carly, Brooke, Colton, Chloe, Isla, London, and Aria; her sister Jackie Johnson (Steve); her brother Ted Pomeroy (Linda); and her many extended relatives and friends.
Wendy was loved and will be missed by so many.
In lieu of flowers, if desired donations may be made to the KGH Foundation or to a charity of your choice.

So sorry to hear about Wendy’s passing.. Although we have lost touch in the last years – we have such fond memories of the the many happy times we spent together – Delaney obviously met Jim & Wendy before me because Jim was his amazing trainer – but once I came into the picture they welcomed me with open arms.. When Caitlyn was born Wendy & Jim looked after our kids – Wendy was always going through her jewelry & giving my girls countless pieces – when I was was pregnant with Caitlyn & don’t know what I would have done without the poolside afternoons.. Wendy was the most generous person would give you the shirt off her back – she will be missed I just wish we hadn’t lost touch.. I can only imagine what an amazing Grandma she was to your kids as she was so loving to our kids.. Love & Hugs to your family..Delaney & Jackie. xoxo
So very sorry to hear about Wendy’s passing. When we first met on the cruise, even though I was an outsider, everyone made me feel very comfortable and welcomed and Wendy was no exception. She was such a good person. I’m sure Verna and Lisa, along with all her family members will miss her dearly. It was an honour to have met her.

I met Wendy 5 years ago when she would come into my shop for an outfit or accessories. Wendy and I became friends instantly . I will miss her bright smile and hugs…Rest In Peace my friend.
We were saddened to hear of Wendys passing. Our hearts go out to you Jim, Kristin, Corey, Verna and family.
We have known Wendy and Jim since the. 80’s in Courtenay where we were stationed together and had some great times with our young families.
We will always remember Wendy’s warm greetings and her infectious smile that lit up the room. She had a great sense of humour.
Wendy’s passing will leave a big vacancy in your hearts. May each precious memory of Wendy’s life lead you to a place of peace and comfort. Keeping you close to our hearts at this difficult time.

Jim, Kristen, Cory, and Verna, I was so saddened to learn of Wendy’s passing. My heart goes out to all of you. It has been a long time since I have seen Wendy and you folks. The last time I saw Wendy was back in 1984 & 1985 when I was stationed in Esquimalt. I used to drive up to Courtney on the weekends to stay with you to do some skiing and ride my bicycle. I recall babysitting Kristen and Cory a number of times, too. Wendy was such a lovely person; she will be dearly missed.
Dear Verna, Jim And family,
We wish you peace to bring comfort, and courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts. Today and always, may fond memories bring you support, and strength. Wendy was such a giving, helpful person to all of the family. With our love and deepest sympathy as we remember Wendy and the happy times we were blessed to have shared with her. Sending our love and prayers.
